The Rocky Mountain Wine and Food Festival is a celebration of local and world-class wines, brews, premium spirits and delicious bites from top chefs and restaurants. Your A-List ticket includes everything in the VIP admission, plus an additional $20 in sampling coupons, access to the A-List private lounge and a guided wine and chocolate tasting experience led by Master Chocolatier Bernard Callebaut and Sommelier Yann de la Chanonie.
Throughout the session, you will be taken through a curated selection of signature chocolates, each thoughtfully chosen to perfectly complement the selection of wines. Anticipated flavor combinations include Rosé with raspberry, Côte du Rhone with lavender, Bordeau with cortez and Port with pistache.
Bernard will share his expertise on cocoa origins, flavour development and the craft of chocolate-making, offering insight into how chocolate’s depth, texture and cocoa content interact with different wine styles. Partnering with Yann Blanchard of AVITUS Wine Bar, the experience combines expert commentary on both wine and chocolate, helping you discover new layers of flavour and appreciation in every bite and sip.

About Bernard Callebaut:
Bernard Callebaut is a fourth-generation Belgian chocolatier whose name has become synonymous with excellence in chocolate. Over the past four decades, Bernard has transformed his one-man operation in Calgary into a brand recognized worldwide, earning a reputation as “Calgary’s father of chocolate.”
Known for his tireless passion and pioneering spirit, Bernard combines exquisite flavours with a unique style built over a lifetime of experience. Today, through Master Chocolat, he continues to pour his artistry and expertise into every creation, crafting chocolates that embody both tradition and innovation. Beyond creating fine confections, Bernard is dedicated to sharing his knowledge and creating memorable chocolate experiences that inspire and delight.
About Yann de la Chanonie:
Yann moved to Calgary eight years ago to work for a wine import company, while also serving in restaurants on the side. Both experiences gave him a deep understanding of the city, as well as how the wine and restaurant industries are organized.
He fell in love with the Marda Loop community and, in 2023, opened AVITUS Wine Bar with his business partner, Moussa. Thanks to the incredible support of Marda Loop residents, they’ve been able to stay busy and, three years later, expand into new ventures: Brioche, a French bar; Glacé Bébé, a coffee and waffle shop; and The Tasting Room & Market, a small European-inspired market.
